Money can buy you things. So because it has an important role in our world, you need to have a lot of respect for it. Money can bring you pride it you have earned it legally. But it can bring you trouble if you have earned it illegally!

- Ask your parents / guardians if you can open a bank account so you can start saving and managing your money. If you can’t, try put money away in a safe place no one else has access to, such as a box under your bed.
- Try to earn money for yourself. Look for opportunities in your area or in your family to help out, such as babysit a younger cousin or offer to help an older neighbour around the house.
- Give yourself a goal, such as something you’ve always wanted to buy but you could never afford.
- Ask an adult you trust and respect to help you manage your savings and even draw up a budget.
It’s never too early to start understanding how to save and budget. Learning how to handle money now will help you in the future!
